How is an Urban Corridor Created?

One of the preferred methods for ensuring connectivity in urban areas is the use of stepping stones. Stepping stones involve creating a series of small, closely spaced natural habitats that link larger natural areas. This provides a pathway for wildlife and plants, helping to maintain connectivity despite habitat fragmentation (Bergès, 2010; Luo et al., 2021).

This method is highly effective because it allows for creative freedom in developing various features along the corridor as opportunities arise. Consequently, multiple micro-projects can come together to form a cohesive corridor.

Projects for the community

Library

Located at Darlington Plaza, this Croque-livre library offers a world of possibilities! The concept is simple: share or take books for all ages.

Psst... the demand is higher than the supply, so a small gift can brighten many people's days.

Festive BBQs

Every year, we host festive BBQs as a way for our community to come together. These events provide an opportunity to discuss our projects and the neighborhood, all while enjoying free food and cultural activities.

We are fortunate to collaborate with the Maison de la Culture and other partners who are dedicated to environmental causes!

Jane's Walk

Each year, we participate in Jane's Walk, an event organized by the Centre d'écologie urbaine. This event offers a comprehensive view of various projects and provides a platform to discuss the history of the neighborhood and the challenges faced by an ecological corridor.
